Motivation Behind My Journey to Medicine:

During my upbringing, I displayed sensitivity towards others' suffering and knew my calling lay in a service-oriented field. Although contemplating a medical career, witnessing my family's mistreatment within the healthcare system dissuaded me as I believed conventional medicine didn't offer the comprehensive help they needed. Thus, I initially aimed to become a psychologist, working as a group/individual counselor in a non-profit behavioral health organization. Observing how medications, diet, and lifestyle often worsened individuals’ behavioral health struggles, I initiated an auricular acupuncture program to address these concerns. This experience underscored the importance of holistic care. My aspiration to merge natural medicine and eastern philosophies with conventional medicine and psychology found its realization when I discovered naturopathic medicine. This path aligned with my purpose, weaving together my accumulated knowledge and experiences to aid others.

I firmly believe in the body’s inherent capacity to self-heal when provided with appropriate resources. True healing emerges from harmonizing the mind, body, and spirit. As a naturopathic doctor, I lead individuals gently and collaboratively on their healing voyages by identifying and treating the fundamental causes of ailments.

Lesser-Known Aspects of My Journey:

I was born and raised in a quaint New York town, yet nurtured a dream of residing near the Californian coastline. Global health and social justice are values close to my heart. I hold a deep reverence for preserving traditional healing methods and have deeply studied both Mexican Traditional Medicine and Ayurvedic Medicine. In September 2021, I embraced motherhood with the birth of my cherished baby boy. I'm relishing the organic evolution into motherhood. My spouse hails from Brazil, inspiring my endeavor to learn Portuguese. Presently, I engage in reading Portuguese children's books to my son, our joint learning venture. Wanderlust fuels me, and I've traversed over 20 countries globally (including ziplining across three different continents). My academic pursuits led me to study philosophy and abnormal psychology in Copenhagen, Denmark, and I spent a year in Europe. Soren Kierkegaard stands as my favored philosopher. The joy of singing courses through me, and there was a phase when I pondered a professional singing career. Nowadays, I sing in the shower and harmonize with my family.
